Thinking about getting powder brows or just had your first session? One of the most common questions we get at Caron Studio is:
"What does the healing process look like?"
The good news is: powder brows have a smooth and manageable journey. In this post, we will break down the week-by-week stages so you know exactly what to expect after your appointment! Most clients experience similar healing stages - but each skin type heals slightly differently. Rest assured, we are here to guide you every step of the way - from consultation to touch-up!
Week 1: Fresh Brows and Initial Healing
What to Expect:
Brows look bolder and darker right after the appointment - this is normal and temporary
You may feel mild redness or tenderness for the first 1-2 days
Around day 3-5, flaking and light scabbing may begin
*We provide a complimentary aftercare ointment for all our clients. Click here for our aftercare instructions.
Pro Tips:
Keep your brows clean and dry.
Avoid heavy sweating, steam, sun exposure or touching your brows.
Apply healing ointment as recommended.
Week 2: Peeling and Patchiness
What to Expect:
The skin begins to flake and peel - some areas may look patchy or faded. This is often called the "ugly" phase, but totally normal.
The pigment underneath the flakes may seem too light or uneven - this is temporary!
What NOT to do:
Do not pick or scratch the area - it can affect pigment retention.
Avoid exfoliants, facials, and makeup on the eyebrow area.
Be patient - your skin is still healing and the colour will resurface.
Week 3: Colour Returns and Softens
What to Expect:
Most flaking has stopped.
Brows may look lighter and uneven at first, but the colour will begin to settle and return (as the bottom layers of your skin heals and regenerates)
The shape will start looking more natural and soft.
Reminder: your skin is still healing beneath the surface - give it time!
Week 4-6: Healed Brows and Ready for Touch-Up
What to Expect:
Your brows are now fully healed, and the true pigment is visible
Some clients may notice small areas that didn't retain as much pigment - this is why a touch up is important!

Touch-Up Appointments in Markham

Final Thought: Trust the Process
Healing is different for everyone, but the week-by-week changes are all part of the journey. Powder brows are designed to give you long-lasting, low - maintenance, natural - looking brows, and the healing stages are a small price to pay for the result.
