Most clients find the procedure very tolerable. We apply a medical-grade topical numbing cream before and during the treatment to minimize discomfort. You may feel a light scratching or buzzing sensation, but it’s usually mild. Some clients even fall asleep during the session! Sensitivity can vary depending on your pain threshold and the time of your menstrual cycle.

Immediately after the treatment, your lips will appear brighter and more intense in colour, this is normal. Minor swelling and tenderness are also common but usually subside within 24–48 hours. Over the next few days, the color will fade and soften by 30–50% as your lips heal, leaving a more natural, blushed finish. Full healing typically takes 7–10 days, with full colour results visible in about 8-10 weeks.

Lip Blush typically lasts 3-5 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routine. Factors like sun exposure, smoking, and certain ingredients in skincare (like retinols or acids) can affect longevity. A touch-up session is recommended at 8-12 weeks after the initial treatment to perfect the colour and shape (this touch up session is complimentary!) After that, colour refreshers can be done every 12–24 months as needed.

However, certain medical conditions, medications, or cold sore history may require special precautions. If you’ve had cold sores in the past, we recommend taking an antiviral medication before your appointment to prevent outbreaks.

Preparation is key for optimal results. Here's what to do before your appointment:

• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners 24 hours before

• Avoid lip injections for at least 3–4 weeks before treatment

• Exfoliate and hydrate your lips leading up to your appointment

• If you’re prone to cold sores, take your prescribed antiviral 1–2 days prior
